I've asked myself the same thing. In a perfect world, Jorune would be on its Sixth Edition, with a long history of successful publication and the fan base it deserves. Andrew Leker and Miles Teves should be writing and illustrating it, and publishers should be clamoring to create compatible products for it.
But that didn't happen, so you get me instead.

I'm not a game designer. Creatively, I spent almost a decade as a freelance 2D and 3D concept artist and illustrator for toy, video game, and movie companies like Hasbro, ThinkGeek, and others, as well as various Kickstarter campaigns.
I've included some examples of my past work here so you can see a bit about what I'm capable of visually. I'll be fully illustrating this project, though I haven't selected a style for this version of Jorune yet and it certainly won't be quite as cartoony as some of these pieces!

As an RPG Game Master of over forty years, I also love rules--the more elegant and detailed, the better. That's why I've chosen to adapt Jorune into a modern tabletop game using the Adventurer Conqueror King System (ACKS II) by Autarch (https://autarch.co/).
ACKS II has the mechanical flexibility, detail, and old-school feel that fits Jorune better than other systems I've considered for this project--and I've considered many systems for this over the years!

I bought Skyrealms of Jorune off the rack in the early '90s from a tiny shop in Waco, Texas, and immediately fell in love. In the decades since, I've read and reread the books and dreamed about walking the streets of Ardoth, flying across the landscape in a Jaspian schooner or astride a talmaron, and exploring the wonders of Tan-Iricid, giddyne in hand.
I passionately believe that, with this adaptation, modern tabletop role players can experience the majesty, mystery, and adventure of Jorune the way it was intended, and they will fall in love with it, too.

So thank you for being here, whether you're new to Jorune or, like me, have traveled it in your imagination for decades. No matter how you got here, you are most welcome.
